Poulenc's opera Dialogues of the Carmelites sings the story of Blanche, a young, frightened sister who learns Faith, Hope, and Love during the French Revolution.
In the last scene, the Carmelite nuns go to their death while singing the Salve Regina, and Blanche is inspired to give the witness of her life and to join them.
